 This is a Betta Splenden also better know as Siamese Fighting Fish. |

They're
originally found in shallow waters around Thailand, Indonesia,
Malaysia,Vietnam and parts of China.Bettas
love the heat and as the water temperature becomes cooler bettas become
more lethargic.They have a special
respiratory organ that allows them to breath air directly from the
surface. We have a male Betta (see above and below), males are prettier
than the
females, they have more flowing fins, they can not be kept with other
male bettas as they
will fight until one of them dies hence the name Fighting
Fish, they are better off on their own.

 This is his bubble nest, once the females eggs have been fertilized he puts the eggs into the nest and guards them until the babies are born. |
